Health Coach

INTERVENT Canada is seeking a self-motivated health professional who is interested in directly and measurably improving lives by providing health-coaching services as part of an innovative, proven disease-prevention program that’s improving the delivery of Canadian healthcare.

We research and develop comprehensive, evidence-based and personalized lifestyle and disease-management programs to both prevent and manage cardiovascular disease and associated complications, and deliver them through partners in corporate and academic settings who are interested in promoting health improvement.

INTERVENT programs were developed over 19 years ago. To date, more than 200 corporations, academic institutions and government agencies covering more than 2 million lives have used INTERVENT programs to improve participants’ health. INTERxVENT Canada has a growing national business providing these programs to Canadians who trust INTERVENT to make meaningful lifestyle changes including:

  • Improving their diet
  • Increasing physical activity
  • Losing weight
  • Quitting smoking
  • Reducing stress
  • Diabetes Management

Your mission is to work with the Canadian health coaching team. The mandate for this position is to support our flagship corporate and academic accounts in launching programs and providing coaching to participants.

Duties include:

  • Provide health coaching / lifestyle mentoring to program participants
  • Launch health and wellness programs to employees
  • Liaise with health coaches in the US / internationally (some travel may be required)
  • Manage projects and coordinate program launches to ensure success
  • Grow a national call centre of telehealth professional to provide lifestyle & disease management counseling
  • General management duties including administration and participation in strategic planning


  • University degree related to life sciences, such as in: nursing, exercise physiology, pharmacy or nutrition
  • Certified Diabetes Educator, a plus
  • Knowledge of exercise, nutrition and the characteristics of living a healthy lifestyle are a must, as is adherence to these principles
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Car—travel will be primarily in the GTA to visit account offices, but may entail travel to other cities
  • An entrepreneurial spirit typical of a new venture
  • Flexibility in hours
  • Bilingual: English/French, a plus
